Stephanie Parkinson is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has also been recognized by the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for her work as a reporter, news producer and news website manager.
Stephanie joined the NBC25 News Team in January 2014, and can be seen every evening on Mid-Michigan NOW on NBC25 at 11pm. She also contributes reports on Mid-Michigan NOW on NBC25 at 5pm and 6pm, and on FOX66 at 10pm.
Stephanie has always had a strong passion for journalism. As a teenager she began writing for her high school newspaper and, after one semester, quickly decided her career path.
Stephanie grew up in Oakland County, and is an honors graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She has anchored and reported at stations in Alpena, Michigan, Lima, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
What Stephanie thrives on most is breaking news and investigative stories. At the same time, some of her most memorable career moments have been traveling to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight with 70 World War II veterans, and going diving with an underwater camera to showcase research being done by naval sea cadets in the Great Lakes.
Stephanie prides herself on being involved in the communities where she lives. Since 2010, she has been volunteering through The Junior League. Stephanie has served on the board several times for the Junior League of Flint.
In the summer, Stephanie loves spending time on Michigan’s beautiful lakes with her husband, two children and Yorkshire Terrier.
