Majors in Spanish and Latin American Studies, and in International Comparative Studies; Certificate in Policy Journalism and Media Studies

I was born in Texas, but spent much of my childhood living all over – in Burundi, Botswana, and England.
In high school, I spent a summer teaching English in Peru.
In college, I spent a summer interning in South Africa and a semester studying Spanish in Spain.
Hobbies, Interests and Community Involvement:
I have lived in Durham for a total of nine years, and I love it. Every week, I can have a new experience – whether it’s visiting a new business or restaurant, exploring a new trail or park, or checking out an event. I’m a big vegetarian foodie (there’s hardly a restaurant in Durham I haven’t tried!).
I also enjoying running on our local trails and greenways, and hiking in the beautiful North Carolina mountains whenever I can.
Family and pets:
My husband, Will, a North Carolina native. We met as undergrads while doing the same Duke summer service program in Cape Town, South Africa.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a reporter (as young as four, I would leave out interview questionnaires for Santa and the Tooth Fairy!).
Telling your stories is a great responsibility I never take lightly. I’m thrilled to be able to tell them at WRAL, in an area I know and love.
