Sara Small is an Emmy award nominated journalist who joined the FOX 17 News team as a morning reporter in September 2018.
Sara is a proud Pennsylvanian, but excited to bring her reporting, anchoring and producing career to middle Tennessee. She previously worked for CBS 21 News in the state capital. Sara covered several high profile stories including the sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby, the conviction of the state’s former Attorney General, and the fraternity hazing scandal at Penn State University. She was also the only reporter in the market to land a one-on-one interview with then-Presidential candidate Donald Trump before the 2016 election.
While she loves covering trials and politics, Sara loves to tell stories that pull at the heartstrings. She was honored with a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award nomination in 2017 for Human Interest-News Feature, covering the incredible story of a determined, sassy, senior Salvation Army bell ringer.
Prior to Harrisburg, Sara also worked at WJAC-TV in Johnstown and State College, Pa. She is passionate about telling the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things and loves to work with our nation’s servicemen and women. She feels privileged to be given such an opportunity.
While not covering the news, Sara loves to enjoy the outdoors, read, spend time with family and friends, and cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies!
