Rachel arrived in Nashville July of 2019, and is happy to call it home.
She previously worked in Medford, Oregon as the 4 p.m. anchor. She also regularly produced that show, and reported out in the field. She was also the main fill-in anchor for the 5 and 6 p.m. broadcasts.
During her time in Oregon, Rachel covered several devastating wildfires, including the Klamathon Fire, Chetco Bar Fire, and Camp Fire – California’s deadliest wildfire to date. She has a passion for stories about science, technology, and health. This comes from her college experience, where she received a minor in kinesiology, and majored in journalism as part of the Honors College and the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University – graduating Magna Cum Laude.
During her senior year, she spent a semester in Washington D.C. during the 2016 presidential election, working with PolitiFact as they fact-checked the presidential debates, and finished up the Obameter—tracking promises made by President Obama during his campaigns and presidency.
She also swam on TCU’s Division I swim team for two years, and competed with the school’s club triathlon team after. Now, that’s what you can find her doing in her spare time, along with exploring Nashville’s food scene!
