Nikki comes to Fox Champaign from Nashville, Tenn. where she worked as a multimedia journalist at Fox 17.
She has held internships at The Student Press Law Center in D.C. and KMOV’s News 4 Investigates unit in St. Louis.
Nikki earned her Master’s degree at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and served as a video Washington correspondent at Medill on the Hill. While at Northwestern, Nikki attained her National Security reporting certificate, where she specialized in homeland security reporting and went through hostile environment training.
She also worked on the Medill Justice Project where she investigated potentially wrongful murder convictions for prisoners serving life sentences. Nikki views herself as the eyes and ears for the community and is most passionate about holding government and elected officials accountable.
When Nikki’s not working, she loves cheering on her St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers, where she attended undergrad. She also enjoys exploring all Champaign has to offer with her Chihuahua, Señor Patron.
