My elementary school yearbook has “meteorologist” as the answer to “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I have loved the weather ever since I was a young girl, and I am thrilled to be in the Miami Valley as Dayton 24/7 Now’s Chief Meteorologist.
Growing up in the Midwest is what sparked my love for weather. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where I was able to experience heat waves to ice storms, and severe weather as well.
I took my passion for weather to the University of Missouri, where I received by Bachelor’s of Science in Atmospheric Science and minor in Mathematics. While I was studying, I chased storms with the Mizzou Storm Chase Team and I gained on-air experience at KOMU in Columbia, Missouri, as a fill-in weather anchor.
After college I moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where I was the Morning Meteorologist at KTVE/KARD for four years. It was there I that I gained experience forecasting tropical weather and tornadoes in Dixie Alley. In 2013, I took my career to Little Rock, Arkansas, where I spent seven years as a meteorologist at KARK/KLRT. While I was in Little Rock, I became a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society.
When my eyes aren’t to the sky, I am spending time with my family. My husband and I have three children (two girls and one boy) and an adopted pup named Eevee. We love to do things outdoors and enjoy trying out new restaurants, so please send any recommendations my way!
