Matt Sheehan

Sheehan joined the WMBD/WYZZ news team in June of 2018.

Matt is a graduate of Missouri State University (Go Bears!) where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Spanish.

Matt began his career at WMBD/WYZZ as a multimedia journalist/photographer. In January of 2019, he was promoted to reporter. In August of 2019, Sheehan was promoted to Anchor/Reporter and is the current Saturday News Anchor/Producer.

In his free time, Sheehan enjoys working out, traveling, going to Peoria Chiefs games, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with family.

Sheehan is CIProud and has been a Peoria Riverman fan for nearly 10 years.

Matt is also the fill-in sports anchor and loves covering professional hockey and baseball, and any kind of football.

Matt was born and raised in St. Louis and cheers for the Cardinals and Blues. He’s also excited about the future XFL team, the St. Louis Battlehawks, and the MLS team that is coming to the Lou.

You can find Matt on-air Tuesday through Friday on WMBD’s 4, 5, and 6 o’clock show. He also anchors every Saturday on WMBD News at 6 and 10, and WYZZ News at 9.
