LYNNETTE GRANT

Lynnette Grant is thrilled to be a part of the team of meteorologists at WSBT 22.

You can catch her forecasts on Saturdays and Sundays, both in the morning and the evening. A meteorology graduate of Valparaiso University, she is back at her second home in Indiana. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs before moving to Sioux City, Iowa, where she was a meteorologist for KMEG/KPTH. While there, her weather team produced an award-winning severe weather special “Ahead of the Storm.”

Lynnette’s fascination with the weather started at a young age. She recalls sitting on the kitchen floor in front of a map of the Chicago suburbs during severe weather, calling her dad at work on multiple occasions to giving him updates on the impending weather. The marks remain on the map today, and the desire to be ahead of the weather still burns strong. She is a member of the National Weather Association, and has presented award-winning research at its national meetings.

The weather is not all Lynnette enjoys. Music, theater, reading, cooking, and DIY crafts are her go-to. She loves to sing at church, and she plays several instruments, including clarinet, piano, guitar, and ukulele. Traveling is another thing she enjoys. Lynnette is excited to explore this area around Lake Michigan and become an official Hoosier this time!
