LIZ ORTIZ

Liz Ortiz joined the FOX45 News team in September 2018 as a Multimedia Journalist.

Liz comes to the Charm City from Spectrum News North Carolina where she worked as a reporter along the Crystal Coast. During her two years there, she covered several military stories aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune along with the devastating floods caused by Hurricane Matthew. She also covered the week-long search for missing three-year old Mariah Woods, a story that sparked national attention.

Prior to reporting in North Carolina, Liz spent a year as a photojournalist and assignment editor at NY1 Spectrum News in Manhattan. Before her time with NY1, Liz worked for WNYW FOX 5 News in New York City, working her way up from an intern to a production assistant.

Liz earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism for the City University of New York- York College. She went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Communications from Southern New Hampshire University.

In her free time, Liz loves being with family, shopping, and exploring all of what the Charm City has to offer. As a New York native, she also loves going home to visit family and friends.
