Growing up in Metro Detroit, Lauren first fell in love with local reporting after watching the morning news with her family every day. She was inspired by the positive impact and change reporters could bring to a community. Her passion hasn’t stopped since!
She is happy to come to Champaign-Urbana after spending three and half years in Chicago attending Columbia College. She graduated early with a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Journalism and summa cum laude in her class.
During college, Lauren interned for NBC Network News at its Chicago Bureau working on stories for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, the Today Show and MSNBC.
She also explored investigative reporting while interning at CBS Chicago working with the “2 investigators” gathering credible tips and assisting the team on shoots.
Lauren is a journalist who trusts her gut and always reports objectively to the best of her ability. She strives to provide the community with poignant and relatable stories, along with hard-hitting investigative pieces that bring issues of injustice into light.
When she is not chasing stories, she enjoys experimenting with film photography and practicing yoga. She can’t get enough of coffee and dogs. (Feel free to send any dog pics her way!)
