I love to read! Fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, magazines – if it has a story, I’m reading it! I’m a huge travel buff obsessed with exploring new places – whether that’s a flight, a drive or a walk away. I’m also a self-proclaimed foodie and love trying everything! I’m not a great cook, but when it comes to baking, I’d put my homemade buttermilk biscuits and apple pie against anyone’s!
Family & Pets:
Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my wonderful family – my husband, our son Maxwell and twin daughters Eleanor and Abigail. And of course our Labrador Retriever pups, Manhattan and Ranger.

Most Memorable Assignments:
Superstorm Sandy was huge for me because I not only covered it, I lived it. My city and apartment building were left under water. I (along with my young son and close family friends) had to be rescued from our building by the National Guard! Meantime, my station didn’t go off the air for six straight days! So many lost much more than us. Their courage and refusal to give up was so inspirational. Experiencing even a small fraction of hardship gave me a fresh sense of compassion and a firsthand perspective at how scary it can all be.

As a General Assignment reporter, I’ve worked around the country covering everything from presidential elections and inaugurations, to hurricanes along the Outer Banks and Gulf Coast, to the Occupy Wall Street movement, mine disasters and building explosions. With my colleagues at WRAL, I’ve covered the historic 2016 Presidential Election, the Carolina Panthers 2016 Super Bowl run, and Hurricane Matthew … to name a few.
But the stories that resonate most with me are those where I am given the privilege of telling someone’s personal story. I continue to be touched and honored by those who allow me to bring their stories into the public eye.
