Karli Bell is glad to be back in the Midwest.
The Chicago native is beyond familiar with central Illinois with her entire family living in Springfield, Charleston, Mattoon and other small towns across the region. After playing some basketball and graduating from Fenwick High School, Karli took her talents to Athens, Ohio where she received at Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism from Ohio University in 2016. After OU, Karli went down to the tiny, little town of Hazard, Kentucky to work for WYMT. While there, she covered all things high school sports, local DII and NAIA college athletics and the University of Kentucky for the past two years, racking up some AP Awards in the process.
Now back in the Midwest, she’s ready to cover what she knows and is ready to see what Central Illinois athletes have to offer. Karli’s favorite sports teams are the Bears, White Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls BUT her NL team is the Cardinals.
