Joy Lepola is an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter for Fox 45 News.

As lead investigative reporter for FOX45’s Operation: Crime & Justice, Joy delivers investigations that expose public corruption and public safety concerns. Her style of reporting introduces our viewers to the individuals directly impacted. She gets answers from those who are responsible. It’s a journey that offers an ever evolving and in-depth perspective. Joy says, “I’m proud and honored to be a journalist in Baltimore. The strength, pride, and kindness that fills the hearts of Baltimoreans, motivates me every day to dig deeper into the stories I investigate.”

Throughout her career Joy’s commitment to producing quality work has been recognized on a consistent basis. In 2018, Joy received a regional Emmy Award for an Investigative Series that focused on the use of taxpayer dollars to install potentially faulty roadway equipment. Crashes cost several drivers their life. Following the series of reports, Maryland’s State Highway Administration began to replace the equipment.

Joy has received nine regional Emmy Awards. In 2017, Baltimore Magazine recognized Joy’s work in its “Best of Baltimore” edition. In 2017 and 2015 Joy was honored as Best Reporter by The Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association. She’s also a Regional Edward R. Murrow winner (2017 and 2016).In 2018 the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association recognized Joy’s work among as being “Best in Show”.

Prior to working in Baltimore, Joy worked in Ohio, Guam, and Wisconsin.

As much passion as Joy pours into her work, she’s most proud of what she’s accomplished outside of the office as a wife and mother.
