DAYNE MARAE

Dayne Marae anchors WSBT 22 News on FOX at 10 and WSBT 22 News at 11. She also reports on special projects. Dayne was raised in the Garden State, and goes back home to be with family and friends whenever she can. While a Jersey girl at heart, Dayne spent many years away from home while getting her start in the news business.

Before coming to WSBT 22, Dayne anchored the evening news in Toledo, Ohio; Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; and Abilene, Texas. That’s where she started her career as a reporter and quickly became a producer and anchor for the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. news. Children have a special place in Dayne’s heart. While in Texas, she was proud to be involved in a weekly segment called ‘Heart to Heart’, where she featured local children in the foster care system that needed a forever home. Dayne says it was a blessing to see the foster kids get adopted, who had been on the news.

Dayne studied Broadcast Journalism and New Media at Towson University in Maryland. (For all you Michael Phelps fans, that’s where he’s from).

When Dayne is not in the newsroom, you can find her working out, shopping or talking on the phone with her mom. Although she spent many years away, Dayne and her mom have one of the best mother-daughter relationships one can have. They are best friends and talk all of the time! She is so grateful and blessed to have the love and support of her family, especially her mom, her step-dad, Uncle Marc and grandparents. Dayne attributes all of her success to them!
