Meet NewsChannel 12’s morning anchor Alexis Cruz! You can catch Alexis on the anchor desk every morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m. on WCTI and from 7:00 -8:00 a.m. on Fox Eastern Carolina. She also anchors and produces the 30-minute noon newscast. She is originally from Miami and is a proud Florida Gator Alumna.
Alexis comes to Eastern North Carolina from Gainesville, FL where she was an anchor/reporter for ABC affiliate WCJB. It was in Gainesville where Alexis found her passion for telling human interest stories and connecting with the community both on and off camera.
Alexis’s fascination with morning news started at a young age. She would wake up every morning before school and start her day with the news alongside her mother. She is grateful now to wake up and start her day with the ENC community.
She is thrilled to finally have the opportunity to experience all four seasons as she explores North Carolina. When Alexis isn’t working, you can catch her heading up to Greenville to relive her days as a competitive figure skater or trying to soak up some warmth at the nearby beaches.
