ADAM DERENGOWSKI

Adam Derengowski is a sports anchor/reporter for WSBT 22 News. A born and raised Hoosier hailing from Richmond, Indiana, he is excited at the opportunity to cover sports in the Michiana area.

He graduated from Indiana University East with a degree in Communications and a minor in History. While at IUE, Adam performed play-by-play duties for the school’s television and radio broadcasts and hosted a weekly television coaches show that aired across the state of Indiana. Adam was also a 4-year member of the IUE tennis team.

Adam’s start in broadcasting began even before college thanks to his father, Troy, who has been a radio sports personality in his hometown for almost three decades. He paired with his father on many different game broadcasts as an analyst and even helped produce and host a nightly sports talk show.

He was nominated for a 2019 Midwest Regional Emmy Award for his story “Finding Freedom” which followed Warsaw wrestler Jacob Bass and his journey from life as a deaf child slave in Ghana to a successful career on the high school wrestling mat in Indiana.

In his spare time, Adam enjoys playing tennis, cooking, watching sports and cheering on his Indiana Hoosiers.
